Michael Buhr
Michael was born in South Africa, with a strong German background. He has a passion for surfing, and a genuine interest in form-driven objects. He also enjoys working with anything that is natural.
“I have a strong focus on user-centred design, and the experiences products will create. I like to emphasise emotions that emerge in the product/user relationship, as this is ultimately the deciding factor in how we use a product, where we use it, why we use it, and of course how long we use it for.”
Major Project: Bar Stool.
This product was an interpretation of what the sea, in particular the West Coast of New Zealand, means to me.
This project was a reaction to problems we are faced with, from a manufacturing aspect as well as transport issues. Thus creating a range of products that are interesting and engaging.
The aim of this product was to create a drinking bottle that was aimed at an older demographic.
